Getting Started
Introduction
At the beginning allow me to give you a brief about my story and how I started developing the handy manager. I am a member in Neobux since August, 2011 and I am registered as yahiatnt. After deep and thorough searching and learning of Neobux forums and articles on the internet, I reached one conclusion in order to be successful on Neobux. It is all about renting referrals, and ensuring that you get rid of the bad performing referrals. So, based on my search and understanding, we must export the rented referrals data daily and maintain it in Excel or so. But this was troublesome, I had to spend enormous amount of time on figuring out how to import such data and how to visually analyze my referrals and decide which to recycle.
Because I am a software engineer, obviously I knew I had to develop my own approach to help me analyzing my referrals easily, quickly and to confidently judge which referrals to recycle, and so, I developed the handy manager since 2011.
Also, I shared free version of the handy manager since the first version till today on Neobux forums, and I received many ideas and suggestions from many members of Neobux for making it become better and better. So, I started my small online business, maintaining this website, selling the full version of this software, and continuing enhancing and updating it.
This is a software that allows us to view the exported rented referrals data from Neobux in more convenient, detailed and quick approach unlike other approaches using Excel sheets or checking Neobux native statistics. This software simplifies the process of analyzing the referrals and understanding their performance, leading to effective and faster judgment when it comes to deciding which referrals need recycling.
In this tutorial we will walk you through the process of exporting the rented referrals data. Then we will see how to import this data and maintain it inside the handy manager. Also, we will show you how to add the details of any memberships you have purchased because the handy manager needs it for accurate calculations.
We will understand how the handy manager displays the clicks graph and analysis details, and how it organizes the referrals and what are the different screens to view.
Next, we will see how to use the basic features of the handy manager such as; adding note, grouping referrals by flags, marking referrals for future recycling, sorting the referrals, and filtering the referrals.
Lastly, we will have a look on important features of the handy manager designed to make dealing with multiple referrals at the same time easier such us; mass actions, automatic flags assigning, and referrals recycling assistance wizard.
Exporting Rented Referrals Data from Neobux
In this section we will talk about how to export the rented referrals data from Neobux. This is very important to build history data for the clicking of our referrals in order to see clicking graph. Please, note that you have to do this daily no matter which tool you use for analyzing your referrals. To export your rented referrals data from Neobux website, follow the sequence of clicks as shown on the following figure.
- Press on the rented referral icon on the top of your Neobux account
- Press on the export rented referrals data (Notepad like icon)
- Press on continue button
- Press on open in a new window button
- Left click with your mouse inside the window that shows the exported rented referrals data
- Right click with your mouse and select Copy from the context menu
- It is recommended to create new Notepad text file and paste the copied data into it, then save this text file with name showing the date i.e. 29_01_2015.txt, 20150129.txt ... etc.
Now, after we right click on the textual rented referrals data in the last window and choose Copy to copy this data into the clipboard.
It is highly recommended to always back up the copied data into new text file and keep it in a safe place on your PC. I personally have folder for each year and inside this folder I save text files each with a particular day’s data, and I name the file with the date. In the following figure I am showing you example of my backed up exported data in text files.
That’s it for how to export the rented referrals data from Neobux, let’s move on to the next section to understand what is really inside this exported data and how we can use it to see the rented referrals clicks history no matter which tool you are using.
Understanding the Exported Rented Referrals Data
In this section, we have some common question about the exported rented referrals data, and we will know the answers shortly. What information we get from this data?
So, what is really inside this data? Let’s have a look on this data, we can see that it is text, and the number of lines equals the number of the rented referrals we own. Then let’s focus on one line from these lines, we can see a rented referral’s ID, referrals since date, last click date, and total number of clicks. This data is same for each of your rented referrals on their corresponding lines in the exported data.
Why do we need to export this data daily?
That’s great, we now understand what is in the exported data, but how we are going to use it to see the clicks history and why do we need to export it daily? To tell you the truth, we can’t use only one exported data, because it doesn’t have the clicks history information. We need to use more than one exported data to see the clicks history information. I will describe this in the following paragraph.Let’ assume we have exported the data every day for 7 days, and let’s focus on only one referral to explain how we can build clicks history information from such data. Our selected referral as an example will have the following lines in the exported data of the 7 days in order from oldest to newest.
R650234363,20150105,20011231,0
R650234363,20150105,20011231,0
R650234363,20150105,20011231,0
R650234363,20150105,20150112,4
R650234363,20150105,20150113,8
R650234363,20150105,20150114,12
R650234363,20150105,20150115,16
Now, for the above referral data lines, let’s interpret his information from his exported lines above into a table as shown below.
Data Date | Last Click Date | Total Clicks |
09/01/15 | 05/01/15 | 0 |
10/01/15 | 05/01/15 | 0 |
11/01/15 | 05/01/15 | 0 |
12/01/15 | 12/01/15 | 4 |
13/01/15 | 13/01/15 | 8 |
14/01/15 | 14/01/15 | 12 |
15/01/15 | 15/01/15 | 16 |
We will add now extra column to our table and in this new column we will calculate the difference between the total clicks of a day and the total clicks of its previous day. This way we can read the information of how many clicks a referral made on a day. Right? This is shown in the table below.
Data Date | Last Click Date | Total Clicks | Clicks Difference |
09/01/15 | 05/01/15 | 0 | 0 |
10/01/15 | 05/01/15 | 0 | 0 = 0 - 0 |
11/01/15 | 05/01/15 | 0 | 0 = 0 - 0 |
12/01/15 | 12/01/15 | 4 | 4 = 4 - 0 |
13/01/15 | 13/01/15 | 8 | 4 = 8 - 4 |
14/01/15 | 14/01/15 | 12 | 4 = 12 - 8 |
15/01/15 | 15/01/15 | 16 | 4 = 16 - 12 |
Also, to view the above table in graphical format, we can plot the days’ dates on the horizontal axis and the number of clicks on a day on the vertical axis. We can see our clicks graph now as shown in the figure below.
What happens if we don’t export this data daily?
In the previous section, we have understood how to read the clicks history information from more than one exported data. So, let see what will happen if we missed to export data on some days. We will explain using the same referral we focused on previously, but this time we will remove one of the 7 exported data for the 7 days duration to simulate that we have missing some of the days in the 7 days as follows.R650234363,20150105,20011231,0
R650234363,20150105,20011231,0
R650234363,20150105,20011231,0
R650234363,20150105,20150112,4
R650234363,20150105,20150113,8
R650234363,20150105,20150114,12
R650234363,20150105,20150115,16
Now, we do the same, we will interpret the above exported lines to build clicks history table for our 7 days. Then we will plot the clicks history graph as shown below.
Data Date | Last Click Date | Total Clicks | Clicks Difference |
09/01/15 | 05/01/15 | 0 | 0 |
10/01/15 | 05/01/15 | 0 | 0 = 0 - 0 |
11/01/15 | 05/01/15 | 0 | 0 = 0 - 0 |
12/01/15 | 12/01/15 | 4 | 4 = 4 - 0 |
13/01/15 | 12/01/15 | 4 | 0 = 4 - 4 |
14/01/15 | 14/01/15 | 12 | 8 = 12 - 4 |
15/01/15 | 15/01/15 | 16 | 4 = 16 - 12 |
As you can see, because we have missed exporting data on particular days, our clicks history table and graph were different from the table and graph in the previous section. This clearly proved why we need to export the data daily, but note that still the total number of clicks is correct, so the overall statistics is the same. Only the clicks history graph is different from the real history.
Now, we understand how to export the rented referrals data from Neobux, how to read it and build the clicks history information, and why we need to export this data on daily basis. These concepts are used in any tool or Excel sheet you might think of using if you need to manage your rented referrals. Let’s move on and start using the handy manager software to process such data and analyze our referrals.
Loading the Exported Rented Referrals Data in Handy Manager
In this part of the tutorial, we will see how to import the exported data, this section is divided into two sub sections, one for using the handy manager for the first time, and the other for using the handy manager afterwards every day.Using Handy Manager for the first time
If this is the first time for using the handy manager, we need to create new file, this file will be used to hold all the processed data inside the handy manager. This is important because we don’t want to reload the already loaded exported data over and over.Creating new XML file
So, in order to create new file inside the hand manager, we follow the sequence of clicks shown in the following figure.- Click on File from the top menu
- Click on New
- Click on File form the top menu
- Click on Save As
- Choose which folder path on your machine to save your file to
- Specify a file name
- Press on Save button
This file has extension XML and it will hold all the data we load or enter inside the handy manager, this will remove the need to reload already loaded exported data in the future as we will see in our tutorial.
Loading exported rented referrals data saved as text files
If you used to back up your exported data each day in separate text file like I described previously in this tutorial, you can quickly and easily load all of such files once.To do so, follow the sequence of clicks in the following figures.
- Click on Tools from the top menu
- Hover over Add Referrals Data
- Click on Load Exported Files
- Press on Browse button
- Navigate then select the folder on your machine that has only text files that contains old exported rented referrals data
- Press on OK button
- If you are used to name your text files using a date like format, you can check this option
- If you check the option of step 7, choose a pattern that matches your files' names format
- If you have sub folders inside the folder you selected and you like to include all the files found insde the sub folders as well, check this option
- Press on Load button
- Press on Update button
After the handy manager finishes loading your exported data from the text files inside your selected folder, simply press CTRL+S on your keyboard because you must save your loaded data in the same file we have created in the previous section so that we don’t need to reload the same data again from now on.
Using Handy Manager on daily basis
Now, after we have created our new file and saved all the exported data from our back up text files if had them, we can now see what needs to be done every day from now on, in order to ensure that we have updated clicks history inside the handy manager synchronized with Neobux website.Opening saved XML file
Firstly, we open our saved file using the following clicks sequence shown in the following figure.- Click on File from the top Menu
- Click on Open
- Choose the folder path on your machine where you can locate your previously saved file
- Choose the file you have saved previously
- Press on Open button
Now, we are ready for updating our data and load today’s exported data from Neobux website.
Loading exported rented referrals data copied in the clipboard
As I have described previously in the tutorial, we have the exported data copied in the clipboard. After we make our regular back up text file, we follow the clicks sequence shown in the following figure to load the copied data from the clipboard into the handy manager.- Click on Tools from the top menu
- Hover over Add Referrals Data
- Click on Paste Exported Clipboard
Now, we save the updated data to the same opened file inside the handy manager, so that we don’t need to reload the already loaded exported data.
Adding Memberships Data
The handy manager will assume you are standard, but in case you have purchased or renewed other memberships such as Golden, and Ultimate, you must add such details inside the handy manager in order to accurately calculate the earnings and profit. To do so, after you have opened your saved file inside the handy manager you can follow the sequence of clicks shown in the figure below.
- Click on Tools from the top menu
- Click on Membership Details
- Choose Type
- Pick From date using the calendar
- Specify the Purchase Cost (This should be used buying new or renewal of memberships)
- Press on Add button
- Press on OK button
- If you have purchased/renewed Golden and Ultimate, repeat the above steps for all such purchases/renewals because this is used by the handy manager to calculate accurate profit
Then you save to the same saved file so that we don’t need to add the already added membership details over and over.
Setting Basic Software Options
Now are ready to focus now on checking our referrals and analyzing them, but before doing so, we just need to set some basic options in the software according to our preferences.First, the handy manager maintains the recycled referrals that are recycled already on Neobux, this is important for the earnings and profit calculations inside the handy manager. But it will be confusing to see such referrals displayed because we will no longer need to include them in our analysis. So, we need to hide such referrals from the options. Follow the sequence of clicks shown in the following figure.
- Click on Tools from the top menu
- Click on Options
- Choose Referrals tab
- Check Do not show recycled referrals at all
- Press on OK button
Second, we need to adjust the average lower and upper limit, these limits are used for coloring our referrals in Green, Yellow, or Red based on their current average and which range it belongs to, same as Neobux website. Follow the sequence of clicks shown in the following figure.
- Click on Tools from the top menu
- Click on Options
- Choose General tab
- Move the slider of Lower Limit to the current BEP average of your account
- Move the slider of Upper Limit to the current BEP average of your account multiplied by a factor of 1.5
- Press on OK button
Third, we need to adjust how the dates are displayed in the handy manager for the Referral Since and Last Click dates, same as Neobux, we can see them as real or relative dates. The handy manager can show both at the same time if that is suitable for you. To change this option, follow the sequence of clicks shown in the below figure.
- Click on Tools from the top menu
- Click on Options
- Choose Referrals tab
- Choose Referral (Since/Last Click) Dates Mode
- Press on OK button
Lastly, you need to adjust the clicks graph properties such as Width, Height, and Bold Vertical Lines according to your taste and convenience. To do so, follow the sequence of clicks on the following figure.
- Click on Tools from the top menu
- Click on Options
- Choose Referrals tab
- Specify Height of the graph
- Specify Width of the graph
- Select Bold Vertical Lines option
- If you have chosen bold vertical lines every 7 days, you can disable setting such bold lines on Sundays
- Press on OK button
Once you are satisfied with the options settings you have made, click OK to apply these settings. Please, note that the handy manager will save your settings each time you close the software. So, no need to readjust such settings over and over.
Analyzing Referrals Basics
How can we analyze our referrals inside the handy manager, and what does it provide for making this analysis effective, easier, and quicker compared to other referrals management tools or Excel sheets. In the following sub-sections, we will focus on the main screens displayed in the handy manager and what information we can view on each of themAlso, we will have a look on how to add a note to a referral, assign a flag to a referral, or mark it for future recycling planned. And we will see how to sort and filter our referrals.
Lastly, we will check out some useful features designed for making it easier and faster to add note, assign a flag, or mark for future recycling planned, for multiple referrals at the same time.
Account Summary Screen
This is the first screen displayed when you open the handy manager, it shows the overall clicks history, statistics, analysis, and graphs for all your referrals combined. This is good for knowing how your referrals are performing as one team.First, we can see when the data last updated, and the current membership is.
Second, we can see the statistics area showing total number of referrals, percentage of green colored referrals, percentage of yellow colored referrals, percentage of red colored referrals, and percentage of already recycled referrals.
Third, we can see the average of all our referrals combined and divided by their number, yesterday’s average, this month’s average, and the current BEP (Break Even Point).
Forth, we have the clicks history table, it shows 240 days clicks records for all our referrals combined. We can see also the average, how many referrals clicked, and how many didn’t click, average of the referrals clicked, and number of recycled referrals manually and automated.
Fifth, we have the Analysis section, and to control its calculation, we set the Analysis settings. Let’s describe how to use the analysis settings. We specify the extension for all our referrals, specify the starting day of the calculations (recommended to be set to yesterday), and whether to include the manual recycling fees in the profit calculation or not. Then we can view the Analysis calculation based on our settings, we ca see the clicks, average, earnings, recycling fees, and profit on different time durations such as Last 7 days, or Last 15 days starting from the starting day settings. We have another view for the Analysis by weeks, if we like to view the analysis calculations on the each of the previous weeks (Week1 is the current week).
